Our Phillies vs. Cubs prediction believes the road team can put a stop to its five-game losing streak on Saturday, halting Chicago's winning ways in the process.

First pitch from Wrigley Field is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET (FOX) today, and this game is priced as a coin flip at some of our best sports betting sites. The Phillies are as short as -118 to win this one, though, getting revenge for Friday's shutout loss.

As of Saturday morning, the Phillies serve as slight favorites at the majority of our best sports betting apps for today's MLB matchup at 4:05 p.m. ET from Wrigley Field in Chicago. The Phillies are just 4-9 on the road, but I’m predicting positive regression and that they'll beat the Cubs to avoid a series loss.

The Cubs have gotten off to a blistering 17-10 start despite playing the most difficult schedule of any MLB team to this point. Chicago is 5-2-1 in eight series against teams currently over .500, with just one of those series losses coming since the calendar turned to April.

However, Philadelphia owns a huge advantage in the starting pitching matchup, which is why I expect it to even the series.

Phillies southpaw Jesus Luzardo has held current Cubs hitters to a .156/.260/.289 slash line in 64 combined at-bats. Meanwhile, Cubs righty Ben Brown has the lowest WAR (0.1) and highest ERA (4.57) of all the team’s healthy starting pitchers, and he's issued four walks in two of his previous three starts.

I predict Philadelphia will beat Chicago by a final score of Phillies 6, Cubs 5.

It's hard to argue against a run being scored in the first inning in a game that involves MLB’s highest-scoring team by a wide margin (Chicago averages 6.2 runs per game and has scored more than 20 runs more than the next highest team).

However, I'm placing my confidence in a scoreless first inning largely on Luzardo, who's among the league leaders in FIP to this point. Combine his dominance with the fact that the Phillies just aren't scoring a ton of runs right now, and I think we'll have to wait until later in this contest for any potential fireworks.
